私たちではない者
モルモン教やエホバの証人など聞いたことがあるでしょうか？もしかしたら一度は彼らに会ったことがあるかもしれません。日本でも多くの都市や町で彼らに出会うことがあり、自らをクリスチャンと名乗っています。聖書に書かれているクリスチャンと照らし合わせてみると、彼らはクリスチャンではありませんのでご注意下さい。私たちはこれらの宗教とは一切関係がありません。クリスチャン、モルモン教、エホバの証人の違いをもう少し詳しく下記に書かれていますのでお読みください。
私たちとエホバの証人さん、モルモン教さんは全く違い信仰に立っています。
私たちは:
- 三位一体（父なる神とイエス・キリスト、聖霊。３つの位格であり唯一のお方）の神、ただ一人の神を信じている。
- 聖典は旧約聖書と新約聖書の全６６巻のみとし、これから教義を削除したり新たに付け足す事を決してしない。
エホバの証人（ものみの塔）さんは：
- イエスと聖霊の神性を否定する（イエスを優れた人間【預言者】とし、三位一体の教義を否定する
- 聖典としては、キリスト教聖書と同一原文を用い、創立者の一人チャールズ・テイズ・ラッセル氏をはじめ、その時代の指導者による独自解釈された【新世界訳】を使用。その他多くの違いがあるが何よりも根本的な神に対する理解に違いがある。※彼らも自称をクリスチャンと呼んでいます。
モルモン教（末日聖徒イエス・キリスト教会）さんは：
- 父なる神とイエス・キリストと聖霊はそれぞれ別個の存在であって、人類の救いという目的のために常に一致して事をなすという教義から三位の一体性を否定。やがて人間も神もしくは天使になると信じている
- 聖典としては、聖書も使うが、創立者の一人であるジョセフ・スミス・ジュニア氏が預言者モルモンの書物を英訳したモルモン書（モルモン書・教義と聖約・高価な真珠の3巻を一冊にまとめたもの）を中心的な教義としてもちいている。※彼らの自称をクリスチャンと呼んでいます。
大きな違い『救い』:
- エホバの証人さん、モルモン教と私たちキリスト教会の大きな違いとして救いの受け取り方の違いがあります。
- 彼らは救いに関して“人の行い”を重要とします。その行いに応じて救いの段階が変わるという教えがあります。
- しかし私たちキリスト教会は聖書にある通り救いはイエス・キリストの主権にあって、恵みとして私たちに与えられている事を堅く信じています。その恵みを受け取ったからこそ自然と行いや振る舞いも変えられるんです。
- 聖書が語っている救いはあなたに対する評価や報酬ではなく、神の愛のプレゼントです。
その他にも、統一教会（世界基督教統一神霊教会）など聖書を独自解釈した全く違う教えを持つキリスト教系新興宗教はこの日本にも多くあります。私たちの教会はこれらの団体と一切関係ありません。
What we are not
Have you ever heard of Mormons or Jehovah Witnessess? Maybe you experienced meeting them at some point. They are in many places in Japan and they also call themselves "Christian". Please be aware- compared to what is written in the Bible, these groups not Christian. We are not associated with these groups in any way. Please read more about some of the differences between Christianity, Mormonism, and Jehovah Witness below.
We have a totally different faith than Jehovah's Witness and Mormonism.
What we believe:
- There is only one God and He exists in three persons (the Trinity) (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in one).
- The Holy Bible consists of only 66 books: the Old and New testament. We do not delete or add any other teachings.
What Jehovah's Witnesses believe:
- They deny the deity of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
- They believe that Jesus is an excellent man (prophet). They deny the teaching of the Trinity. They established all of their doctrines based on their own interpretation of the Bible by one of the founders, Charles Taze Russell and leaders of that generation. They prefer to use their own translation, the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, although their literature occasionally quotes and cites other translations of the Bible. There are many more differences but the fundamental difference is in the understanding of God. ※They call themselves Christian.
What Mormons believe:
- They deny the teaching of the Trinity. They believe that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are separate persons and they united and work together for the salvation for human being. They believe that all people will eventually be gods or angels.
- Mormons have a scriptural canon consisting of the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and a collection of revelations and writings by Joseph Smith known as the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price. ※They call themselves Christian.
The Big Difference: Salvation
- There is a big difference between Jehovah's witnesses, Mormons and us Christians in how one perceives salvation.
- Jehovah's Witnesses and Mormons put importance on “man's action” for their salvation. They believe that there are different levels of salvation in relation to their actions.
- However, real Christianity believes that salvation is under Jesus Christ's authority as the Bible says and it is given to us by His grace. Because we have received His grace, we are able to change our actions as a result.
- The salvation discussed in the Bible is not based on evaluation nor a reward for us, but it is a gift of love from God.
There are other Christian new religion churches like the Unification Church in Japan. They also have totally different teachings and have their own interpretation of the Bible. Our church has nothing to do with these groups.
